'Regine at the Movies' Goes Onstage

While it seemed usual these days to tag female singers as divas in their own right, Regine Velasquez manages to be what others may not equal. And this was evident during her weekend shows at the Music Museum as she gave fresh twists to unforgettable movie themes in a style only she can best deliver.

“Regine at the Movies.” Through the creative arrangements of musical director Raul Mitra using a unique combination of musical instruments for accompaniment, Regine once again brought sheer delight to her audience with her powerful renditions of well–loved movie themes. “Dirty Dancing’s” “Time of My Life,” “Con Air’s” “How Do I Live,” “Titanic’s” “My Heart Will Go On,” “Up Close and Personal’s” “Because You Loved Me” and “Moulin Rouge’s” songs were among the popular themes featured in this series which sets it apart from the numerous concerts Regine has done in the past. With no elaborate stage design and production, her rendition of such an exciting repertoire was more than enough to complete the night of those who came to watch her perform again in the local scene after her successful concert tour in the U.S..

This weekend, it’s now Makati’s turn to experience the same exciting treat and with even more surprises as Regine moves to Onstage Greenbelt for the rest of the series. For the discriminating and vibrant Makati habitués who have long waited for Asia’s Songbird, Regine’s series promises to end all the wait and give ultimate satisfaction no less. For both film and music enthusiasts, “Regine at the Movies” is guaranteed to be the best show to watch on weekends of November and December.

So catch “Regine at the Movies” on Nov. 23, 24, 30, Dec. 1, 7, 8, 15 and 16 at Onstage, 2/F of Greenbelt Mall, Makati. Show starts at 9 p.m.. (2002)

“Regine at the Movies” is a production of Maxi–Media International.
