Kuh Ledesma with Republic of Malate's Good Earth
Tea Room renowned chef-artist Henry Cheung

MANILA, July 7 (Sunstar)- The Republic of Malate never seems
to stop in giving its patrons the kind of first class entertainment
that they deserve.

Check these out: "Fool For Love," "Rhythms For Peace," and
"Latin Nights..." three shows that cut across Republic of Malate's
diversified and electric market.

"Fool For Love" is written by American playwright and actor
Sam Shepard (that starred in the film version of the play),
recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for drama.

The play centers on the unromantic exposition of gender and
relationships. Multi-awarded stage director cum actor Bart Guingona
directed the play that starred Lara Fabregas, Lee Robin Salazar,
Apa Ongpin, and Jaime Fabregas.

Due to the rave reviews and the curiosity that it has drawn,
producer and Republic of Malate impresario pop diva Kuh Ledesma has
decided to re-stage "Fool For Love."

"Rhythms For Peace," on the other hand, is the perfect concert
for alternative music lovers. The concert features Grace Nono.
Tagged as the purveyor of World Music, Grace Nono will attempt to
use music via this concert to summon the spirits of peace.

A native of Mindanao, Nono feels so bad whenever she hears
news about the blood-split of her land. "Had my instruments been
the gun, I might have found myself in the battlefield,
participating in a war against my neighbor; a war I am made to
believe is just. But my instrument is my voice in song..." says Nono.
